Mine Train Ocean park Hong Kong
Fancy a train ride on your Hong Kong tour? We don’t reckon you’ll be wanting to after trying this “craziest ride” of Hong Kong Ocean Park.
Standing 85 meters tall at the brink of the sea, Mine Train takes you to a looong ride with crazy slopes at breakneck speed. Hold on tight for there’s nothing to protect you from falling off into nothingness except for each coast’s lock bars on your lap. Don’t worry; we’re sure it’s perfectly safe. Besides, that’s the thrill you’re looking for on your Hong Kong tour, right?
The Flash Ocean park Hong Kong
Want to know how it feels like to be thrown off for a spin 22 meters high above the ground? Then get on The Flash during your Hong Kong tour!
This Ocean Park Hong Kong ride can send you into a full 360-degree spin at dizzying speed. But that’s not all; as you spin high above the ground, you’re also rotating mercilessly in your seat—just to add to the “fun.”
Cable Car Ocean park Hong Kong
Okay. Let’s tone down the thrill (and puke) factor a bit.
The cable car ride at Hong Kong Ocean Park takes you to an extraordinary journey from Waterfront to Summit and vice versa. With the maximum capacity of 6 persons, the littlegondolas climb the steep mountains and cross the wide swaths of sea, allowing you to bask in the gorgeous vistas during your Hong Kong tour.
Note: since the gondola is too tiny and very light, it easily swings as strong winds pass by which is somewhat scary, especially if it’s going up the mountain. Passengers are prohibited therefore to stand and make sudden movements during the ride.
Ocean Park Tower Ocean park Hong Kong
Getting on this ride is the best way to see the entire Ocean Park Hong Kong and enjoy amazing views of South China Sea, Aberdeen and nearby islands. Towering at 200 meters above sea level, the Ocean Park Tower takes you up while slowly rotating at 360 degrees so you can observe every detail of the sun, sea and sky on your Hong Kong tour.
Hong Kong Tour: Ocean Park Animals and Sea Creatures
Your Hong Kong tour can’t be complete without a glimpse of the amazing animals and sea creatures of Ocean Park Hong Kong. Here are the ones worth mentioning:
Giant Pandas Ocean park Hong Kong
Stop by the HKJC Giant Panda Habitat on your Hong Kong tour to see the two giant pandas that were given to Hong Kong as a symbol of the country’s return to Chinese sovereignty.
During our Hong Kong Ocean Park visit, we were lucky enough to catch one of the pandas, Jia Jia, awake. The charming creature was delightful to watch as she gleefully devoured snack after snack that was on each step of her cage. (Watch the video to see what made her temporarily stop her bingeing.
)
You’ll see another panda that looks way too stuffed for his/her own good (in a cute way, that is) at the Amazing Asian Animals at the Waterfront. The panda is one of the unforgettable animals from our Hong Kong tour because he/she was too cute to watch as he/she looked stuck and bored in his/her table. ![]()
Seals and Sea Lions at Pacific Pier Ocean park Hong Kong
Here you’ll see the intriguing and seemingly dead sunbathing seals. Other kinds of seals can be found here, and if you’re lucky like we were during our Hong Kong tour, you’ll catch a sea lion standing real tall and proud as if asking to be photographed. Or you’ll get to see another seal catching fish thrown by other visitors.
Remarkable Creatures at the Grand Aquarium Ocean park Hong Kong
Just like the at Manila , the Grand Aquarium has tunnels and huge aquariums that house marine creatures such as manta rays, sharks and various kinds of fishes. But the ones that we found remarkable here are the sea dragons that looked like seaweeds, the giant spider crab, the scary moray eel, and the shark with a knowing smile that swam with little fishes following around as if they were his bodyguards.
(watch the video!)
It’s true that there are a lot of things that you can do in Hong Kong but for me shopping and ocean parks are the best.
